Exciting football training sessions for girls aged 4-6 years old at Mini Villa

We are looking for more girls, aged 4-6 years old, to come along and join our Mini Villa football training.

Mini Villa is our fun, exciting football training sessions for children who are currently in reception or year one at school.

This is a great way for children to be active, develop their interest in football and build confidence whilst making lots of new friends.

Our training sessions are run by experienced FA qualified coaches who engage with all the children to make this a safe, fun and exciting way for your child, to gradually develop their football skills. Research has shown that a positive first start will encourage children to remain fit, healthy, and active throughout their lives.

All our sessions are age appropriate, fun based activities designed around the FA Play Phase guidance.

Physical development

Through play, we help your child's physical development introducing them to the ABCs. This refers to three of the fundamental movement skills set out in the National Curriculum for PE.

Agility is the ability to change direction at speed and in control of your own body. Balance is the ability to stay upright and in control of body movements. Coordination is the ability to move two or more body parts under control smoothly and efficiently. The ‘s’ in ABCs stands for speed. It includes speeding up, slowing down, and stopping while controlling a ball or near a player. Although it’s not a fundamental movement skill, it works with them and is key when playing invasion games like football.

Social development

Children will be constantly developing and building their social skills alongside their emotions. Our coaches are aware children learn at different speeds, that one child may be super confident and yet another child may be incredibly shy. Our coaches are mindful of this and will gradually help build your child's confidence as the weeks go by, helping them to become more and more involved in the group training activities.

We appreciate that one minute they cooperate peacefully, and the next, they are demanding. This is normal for this age, so we are patient and understanding and parents or carers are always close by to step in and help their child when required.

Fun, safe environment to learn to play football

At Garforth Villa Football we have been coaching children's football since the 1970's. We are the oldest junior football club in Garforth and over the years there has been a lot of changes to the way we coach football. All our coaches undertake continuing professional development to ensure we deliver the best coaching experience to the children at our club.

We ensure your child is able to practice football in a safe, fun environment where they are able to try new skills and learn through play. You may even spot the inner child of our coaches making an appearance, whilst they are delivering their exciting, fun football sessions.

We train Sunday mornings from 10am to 11am. Over winter we are currently training at Fives, Limewood Approach, Seacroft using their 3G all weather pitches. In summer, we move back to Garforth on the grass, as the weather improves.

Interested? We would love to say hello and welcome you to our football group. Contact Simon Pinkney on 07734 527048 or visit our website and select Register to Play from the navigation menu.
